Welcome to mAssKickers.org! As the power of the Internet provides more information about one’s new diagnosis, the need for a website geared towards the newly diagnosed patient and his loved ones has emerged.  Patients are continually looking for information online. mAss Kickers is a very unique website. It is almost exactly everything I was looking for when I was first diagnosed with a brain tumor in Oct 2005.  In the logo, the "m" de-emphasized represents the idea that we should move the focus from the "mass" and shift the focus to "a$$ kicking".  The logo is meant to elicit a "pugilistic" approach to survivorship.

mAss Kickers Foundation believes that to see tangible results in the war on tumors/cancer, we should Use the K.U.R.E. ^TM when dealing with an intimidating tumor/cancer diagnosis. Use KNOWLEDGE, Promote UNITY, and Support RESEARCH to EMPOWER YOURSELF. Use the K.U.R.E. ^TM is an excellent strategy to combat any diagnosis for people currently dealing with a tumor/cancer because ALL TUMORS SUCK!

1. KNOWLEDGE - One of the first places a newly diagnosed patient or his/her loved ones looks for information is the Internet. Our website presents KNOWLEDGE  to the newly diagnosed tumor/cancer patient AND their loved ones through:

• links to diagnosis-specfic organizations,
• links to diagnosis-specific blogs,
• interviews with diagnosis specific Featured mAss Kickers,
  
• articles submitted by other organizations that offer support to patients and their loved ones.
  
• articles written by health experts or diagnosis specific survivors.

We understand how intimidating this process is for everyone involved when you or a loved one gets an intimidating diagnosis.  We just want to provide helpful resources to make the process a little easier.  The information contained on this website is intended to be added to your “mAss Kicking Arsenal” and not intended to replace advice from your physician! Please check out our mAss Kicking Arsenal… we’ll be expanding it!

2. UNITY - A shared common "pugilistic attitude" can promote unity among all types of tumors and cancer. Unity is also needed between the patient and his/her loved ones. Most importantly, unity between all types of tumors/cancer will only facilitate the control of these horrible diseases.  We believe that attention-grabbing campaigns and unique events will unify ALL those touched by tumors /cancer under a shared rebelious attitude. Through unity, true leaders in the struggle will emerge.

3. RESEARCH - Supporting research will pave the way for progress in: more efficient diagnosis, efficient treatment, improved mortality rates, improved quality of life for patients, and diagnosis-specific symptom management. Stand Up To Cancer was selected as the 2011 benficiary due to their dedication to cancer research.

4.  Using KNOWLEDGE, promoting UNITY, supporting RESEARCH, will lead to EMPOWERMENT for patients and their loved ones through a very intimidating situation.
